AIDS Ministry

The AIDS Ministry provides compassionate caring and ongoing assistance to our sisters and brothers living with HIV/AIDS as well as their family and friends.  It may be as simple as lending an ear while sharing a cup of coffee or as involved as trying to fix a leaky roof.  It can be as fun as playing a game or as necessary as grocery shopping, cleaning a yard, or transportation to a doctor appointment. Although there is a need for those willing to provide direct, hands on assistance to those with the disease, there is a place for everyone in our ministry.  All are welcome. Time commitment varies according to your schedule.

For further information about this compassionate ministry, please contact Bob Martin at 770-986-0111.

NEWCOMERS
"The power of love and caring can change the world."
-James Autry

Members of the Newcomers committee provide a welcoming meal to the newly registered members of St. Oliver’s. These events are scheduled approximately three times a year.  Simple meal preparation in the parish kitchen is done the afternoon preceding the brunch and the meal is cooked and served  the next morning  with  light clean-up afterward.  If you would like to become more involved at St. Oliver’s but have a busy schedule, this might be a great way to make new friends and help to greet to our new members.
