Fr. James Henault
Biographical Dates
Father Henault made his first vows as a Missionary of Our Lady of LaSalette on Aug. 15, 1976. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 17, 1980, after receiving a master’s degree in sacred theology from Catholic University. The native of Fitchburg, Mass., served his first priestly assignment as a parochial vicar at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Hartford, Conn., from 1980-83.
He then served as co-pastor of St. Peter’s Church in Dagenham Essex, England, until June 1991, when he made his way to Georgia to serve as pastor of St. Clement’s Church in Calhoun.
In 1993, he was appointed pastor of Blessed Trinity Church in Orlando, Fla., where he served until 1997. He was then elected vicar provincial of the LaSalette Province of Seven Dolors in Hartford, Conn., and served a term of three years.
He was appointed pastor of St. Oliver Plunkett Church in Snellville in December 2001.
Fr. John Welch

I am Fr. John Welch, M.S. I was Born in Salem, MA to Richard and Dorothea Welch. I have two sisters, Suzanne a teacher; Sandy a nurse and a twin brother Rick who works for the post office. I graduated from Salem State College School of Social Work and worked as a social worker at a Medical Adult Day Care. I was Ordained 4/17/93 at the La Salette Shrine in Ipswich, MA and I have been assigned to parishes in CT, GA, LA, MA, and most recently the Vocation Director for the La Salette community.
I am the National Chaplain for the Faith and Light communities: ministering to people with intellectual disabilities. I have been on many mission trips to Jamaica to the Mustard seed community and Mexico. I have attended five World Youth Days and have been a prison Chaplain.
I enjoy running, hiking and I am a duffer at Golf. I do look forward coming to St Oliver's working and ministering with you all. Please don't be a stranger to me.

Rev. Thomas J. Carroll was born in Waterbury, on October 31, 1926, son Thomas and Mary (Walsh) Carroll. He attended schools in Waterbury before entering the La Salette Seminary, Hartford, in September 1941. He made his first profession of vows as a religious on September 19, 1946, at the La Salette Novitiate in Bloomfield. He continued studies for the priesthood at La Salette Seminary, Ipswich, MA, and was ordained a priest on May 1, 1954, at Sacred Heart Church, Newton Centre, MA.
After ordination he taught at La Salette Seminaries in Altamont, NY and Jefferson City, MO. In 1957 he was appointed Treasurer first at the La Salette Seminary in Ipswich, MA and then at the La Salette Seminary in Hartford. He was appointed Master of Novices at the Brothers Novitiate in Ipswich, MA in 1961. From 1964 to 1973 he served as the Director of the National Shrine of Our Lady or La Salette in Ipswich. He also served in the leadership of the Province of Our Lady of Seven Dolors from 1963 to 1970.
In 1973 he was assigned Associate Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, Sulphur, LA. He became Pastor of St. Francis Parish in Cartersville, GA in 1974, which included the then mission churches of Our Lady of La Salette, Canton and St. Clement, Calhoun.
In 1978 he was asked by the Archdiocese of Atlanta to begin a new parish in Northeast Cobb County, now known as the Church of St. Ann, Marietta, GA.
From 1991 to 2001 he served as Pastor of St. Oliver Plunkett Parish in Snellville, GA and the mission of St. Matthew, Winder, GA. He retired to the La Salette House, Hartford in 2002.
Rev. Thomas J. Carroll, M.S., 76, of The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, 85 New Park Avenue, Hartford, died Thursday, (March 20, 2003), at Hughes Rehabilitation Center, West Hartford. Father Carroll is survived by two brothers, William Carroll of Middlebury, and John Carroll of Gallatin, TN. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Most Rev. John F. Donoghue, Archbishop of Atlanta, on Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at 12 Noon at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, New Park Avenue, Hartford.
