Mission Statement
Stewardship is quite literally a call to renew the face of the earth.
Christian stewardship is not something we do, it is the way we live our
entire life. It is a leap of love. To follow Christ is an adventure in
faith, taking a chance on love, and belief in the human spirit. We are
all asked to give of our time and talent.
One of the gifts of God is the uniqueness of each and every
individual. We all have something to offer which can help others; it
does not matter whether we are rich or poor, young or old. To deny our
talents is not a virtue. The value lies in recognizing and sharing our
abilities.
Our Mission is to encourage and support the effective stewardship of time and talent in order to fulfill the mission
of St. Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church
St. Oliver Parish has numerous opportunities for you to share your
unique talents. Please take the time to read about the many and varied
ministries, needs, and activities which are available to
you.
Stewardship Prayer
Almighty God,
My parish family is composed of people like me.
I help make it what it is.
It will be friendly, if I am.
Its pews will be filled, if I fill them.
It will do great work, if I work.
It will make generous gifts to many causes, if I am a generous giver.
It will bring other people into its worship and fellowship, if I invite and bring them.
It will be a parish family of loyalty and love, of fearlessness and Faith, and a parish with a noble spirit, if I – who make it what it is – am filled with these same qualities.
Therefore, with the help of God, I will dedicate myself to the task of being all the things that I want my parish family to be.
Bless my journey, Lord God, that I might build the Church through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
